This vessel is the Borealis, a massive Half-Life 2 ship famously lost at sea. The model here is a 1:1 (or very close) recreation inspired by the USCGC Healy, scaled up for Stormworks. You can see a screenshot from my in-game recreation above, followed by additional screenshots of the version you will get when you subscribe to this workshop item.
Took me a while, I know. I’ve taken some creative liberties to make the ship functional—this thing is absolute massive chungus energy. It’s split into six separate sections due to size, which means it’s not spawnable in a standard workbench. Right now, this is a WIP focused on propulsion, power, and survival gear; the nuclear reactor isn’t fully functional yet, and interior details are still coming.
⚠ IMPORTANT:
The ship’s current top speed is 21 kts. With infinite electric enabled, it’s fully controllable. Without it, you’ll struggle to hit 5 kts.
Arctic crew gear and heaters are included to keep players from freezing.
Reveal the map before moving the ship. Trying to move first then revealing will almost certainly crash the game.
Loading is heavy: expect up to 4 minutes on average to spawn the ship. Patience is required.
Specifications (as of current WIP):
Propulsion: 6 large electric motors per propeller (reduced from 14 for better control)
Top Speed (infinite electric): 21 kts
Realistic Cruise (Healy speed): ~14 kts at ~27% throttle
Sections: 6 modular parts for compatibility
Crew Gear: Arctic survival gear included
Interior: Limited for now; full interior will include all possible rooms (future update)
