The "McG Leichtflugzeug 02"
is a lightweight airplane created with the goal to achieve speeds above 500 km/h or 140 m/s while being a perfect fit for Stormworks "Career Mode" and its challenges.
The top speed of above 500 km/h is reached with the "Emergency Power" mode switched on, no wind, and an altitude of about 2500 m.
Without the "Emergency Mode" (and to a certain extent even with it on), the fuel efficiency is hard to improve, and thanks to the ~2000L internal custom fuel tank, your range is far more than enough to make it to the Arctic and back.
And with the price of 15000, it can be used from the start of any new game too.
Controls are rather easy:
You can taxi while at low speeds with the steerable back wheel
Taking off with keyboard only needs you to max out the throttle after the engine is fully started up without any inputs.
For straight flight, some trim is needed.
Pressing 1 once switches to mouse steering mode and back.
While in mouse mode, you can hold the spacebar to use free look.
Just keep in mind that letting go of space won't reset your camera.
Landing can be a little tricky.
I recommend deactivating "Emergency Mode" and approaching any landing strip with a throttle value of 0.40 and lowering it to 0.25-0.30 when close above the ground and then just waiting for it to touch down while keeping the nose up.
As it is my very first workshop creation, its "features" are rather basic, but I think it's a good platform for a light fighter plane, so feel free to modify it to your desire.
