Overview
Custom End Game allows you to set your own objective endings to reach specific goals or milestones, letting you make an ending for your colony without ever leaving the planet.
Whether your goal is to build a massive trade colony or kill your enemies, this lets you make your own ending. For example, you can set a requirement to simply survive for 100 days, for a survival challenge, now with an ending, with credits and a sense of completion once you hit that goal, instead of the game just continuing forever.
Important: Reaching your milestone is not a hard stop. Once you fulfill an objective, you get the choice: End the game to see the ending credits and go back to the main menu, or just continue overseeing the colony and keep playing as long as you want.
How it works
• Scenario Setup: You can add the "Custom End Game" part to any scenario to set your milestones before you start.
• In-Game Editor: You can also use the Custom End Game Editor in the dev tools to add, remove, or change objectives in a save you've already started.
• Quest Tracking: Progress shows up in your quest log. When you meet the requirements, you can trigger the "Finalize Objective" button.
• The Conclusion: Finalizing triggers a victory screen and credits, but you can always choose to stay and keep playing with that colony afterward.
Key Features
— Objective Types: Mix and match requirements like Resource Accumulation, Days Survived, Faction Destruction, Colony Wealth, Population Size, Tame Animals, Quests Completed, and Research.
— Appear Thresholds: You can set it so your objectives only show up in the quest log once you've actually made some progress toward them.
— UI & Performance: Simple "Current / Required" readouts in the quest log. The systems are optimized to keep your TPS high, even in the late game with massive stockpiles.
Testing
I have done a lot of testing to ensure everything is stable and light on performance. However, since the mod allows for A LOT of different end-type combinations, it might need some more testing. If you find any bugs, please let me know in the comments!
Compatibility
Safe to add to existing saves. If you add it to a game already in progress, you can manually add and configure your end quests by using the Dev Menu (Debug Actions -> Open quest editor). It functions as its own system, so it should work fine with most other mods.
