LaChapelle "Salamandre" Steam Powered Landship
(FICTIONAL)
The LaChapelle "Salamandre" Amphibious Landship was a weird, unique attempt to create a steam powered amphibious boat that could travel on rough terrain.
Freddy LaChapelle, the creator and inventor of this landship who also owned a ship building company, created this as a desperate attempt to find another use for paddle wheels he invested on creating after screws were starting to come into use. His idea was to fashion it into a wheel designed for traveling on land, making a ship that could travel on land and in water, eliminating the need to construct expensive ports.
In order to prove the concept, he used what was left of his money and used a boat hull, flipped it backwards, added wheels and installed a small boiler setup. The result was a vehicle that could travel in water and on land (all tough it was a bumpy ride due to the awkward shaping of the paddle wheel.)
It worked relatively okay, and investors were more interested now that the idea was proven to work, but could this actually save LaChapelle from bankruptcy?
