RSV Empress Of The Abyss
An advanced, multi-purpose deep sea research, survey and recovery vessel
It is our great pleasure to present the newest addition to our company's fleet. RSV Empress Of The Abyss is the first vessel of the Court Of The Depths class (with many more to come), and right from the start presents herself as a vital part of our operations.
This massive, open ocean vessel proved capable of even the most demanding operations. Powered by a powerful 6-cylinder diesel engine, Empress can cruise with speeds up to 26 knots, regardless of the weather conditions. Her massive displacement and low center of mass makes her difficult to flip, even when encountering a rogue wave. Paired with 40 000 liters of diesel, her range is in the neighborhood of 160 km.
The crew (of which she can house up to six + the captain) has a plethora of high-tech systems to aid in open ocean navigation, such as:

advanced, sail-by-waypoint GPS autopilot with route planning of up to 25 waypoints

full two-way comminication radio station

advanced weather station providing information about the speed and direction of the wind, as well as rain intensity

digital compass
But navigating the ship is not everything. Empress being a deep sea research, survey and recovery vessel has to have sufficient means to perform these tasks. For that she provides:

advanced deep sea diving bell, which has been tested and verified on the depths of up to 220 m

high-power deep sea recovery crane, capable of lifting cargo from the bottom of the ocean both with hardpoint connector, as well as magnetic grabbers

diving suit recharge station

three mounted high-caliber machine guns to protect the crew from scavengers and sea monsters
However, if all goes tits up, Empress Of The Abyss cares for her crew. That's why it is equipped with two open ocean capable lifeboats, that can be deployed both from the deck, and from inside of the lifeboats. Equipped with electric powered propellers, solar panels and hand crank, they can support fleeing crew for a long time, hosting even a bed. And with all that, the lifeboats are virtually unsinkable.
Fortunately, for most of the time the crew is not in immediate danger, so to ensure they can enjoy the long trip to whatever they need to get to, the vessel also incudes comfortable crew compartments. The bow section is dedicated for common crew compartment, and captain compartment, both equipped with automatic space heaters, same with the superstructure and bridge.
Stern section however is where the fun happens. It houses the mess hall with fully equipped kitchen, as well as hospital ward, so that the alcohol-poisoned crewman don't have to walk too far on the deck.
We hope you'll like the Empress as much as we do!
