Success | Scow

The Success was originally built as the Alwin G in 1925 by the shipbuilder Davey Darroch, located at Stanley bay in Auckland. In 1937, her name was changed to Success. She changed hands until 1963 when she was purchased by Barney Daniels, who moved her to Wellington. Success was one of the ships who helped rescue survivors of the Wahine disaster on April 10 1968, along with many other privately owned and commercial ships. Success changed hands many more times until finally being retired in 2008, and as of 2026 she is owned by the Kaipuke Kaiapoi Heritage Trust, who aims to restore Success to full working order
