The same species of trees, bushes, and weeds found in the Boreal Forest will now be able to grow naturally in these cold biomes. ❓ Why? : In the vanilla game, even if you create the perfect environment using other mods or editors, plants often refuse to spawn naturally due to hardcoded biome limitations. You were likely forced to manually plant every single blade of grass. This mod fixes that by overhauling the biome system to allow for natural vegetation growth and increased spawning frequency. Once you terraform the barren ice using your own methods, you can finally cultivate a lush, green park right in the middle of the polar desert. Without this mod, even if you lay down fertile soil, it would remain a dry and barren patch of dirt where nothing grows naturally. 🤔 How is this different from simply changing the biome to Boreal Forest? : It is quite different. This mod does not alter the underlying climate of the biomes. Weather phenomena associated with high latitudes, such as the Midnight Sun and Polar Night, remain completely unchanged. As a result, maintaining a "green" colony here will be significantly more challenging than in a standard Boreal Forest. Furthermore, because this mod only affects flora, the wildlife (animals) will still spawn according to their original biome settings. ⚠️ Important Note : This mod is not a magic wand that will instantly turn a block of ice into a lush paradise. It simply enables the possibility of natural growth. As every seasoned colonist knows, plants still require specific environmental conditions to survive. So please ensure the following requirements are met: # Tiles with Adequate Fertility: Sea Ice consists entirely of ice, which has 0% fertility. You must use other mods or map editors to provide soil or gravel for plants to take root. # Temperatures Above 0°C: Plants cannot grow in freezing temperatures. Using the Atmospheric Heaters from the Anomaly DLC is a highly effective way to achieve a stable, warm environment. # Light Levels Above 51%: RimWorld planets at high latitudes experience Polar Nights, meaning it can stay pitch black for half the year. This mod does not change planetary mechanics or axial tilts. To maintain your greenery year-round, you will need a massive array of Sun Lamps or some *TRULY AWESOME* high-intensity floodlights. # Patience: Even after all conditions are met, it may take a significant amount of time for the vegetation to fully recover due to the natural regrow cycle. 👌 Can be added or deleted to existing saves.
