Self-Sustaining Steam Turbine (Manually-Startabl
The starting procedure is as follows:
1. Turn on the 3 main breakers.
2. Turn the panel power key.
3. Engage the furnace starter loop.
4. Wait for the 177 liters of water to flash into steam completely.
5. Now turn on the recirculation pumps.
6. Hold the steam injector button briefly, you'll hear the turbine start to spin up.
7. Check the inlet pressure gauge to see it somewhere in the low-to-mid 50 ATM range.
8. Tap the steam injector button very briefly a few times to bump it up to 59.9 ATM.
9. Be sure the outlet pressure is down around 0.1 ATM, but its okay to slightly overfill it.
10. Turn off the furnace loop to allow the control loop batteries to recharge.
Now you can engage the clutch to start up the direct-drive large generator, outputting roughly 441sW peak, and it will do this as long as you need.
Do keep in mind that this is an exploit generator. If the devs alter fluid mechanics and how steam works, this generator's output will change drastically, and it could either get more overpowered, or just break and fail to self-sustain as it does now.
Also, you can shut down the generator simply by turning off the recirculation pump toggle button, and when you want to start it back up, ensure panel power is connected and press the recirculation pump toggle button, the turbine will come back up to speed since there is still steam in the loop and the pumps have forced it back up from equal 30/30 pressure back to 60/0 again, exploiting how turbines and pistons generate torque entirely via pressure differential, as fluid temperature does not really exist in Stormworks.
