M.N. Adler Class - Frigate

Adler-Class Background The Adler-Cass is a fictional frigate, inspired by american designs of late WW2. It's designed to assist in convoy escort, accompanying the various destroyers and destroyer escorts of the many convoys heading through the atlantic. It's main focus is to provide AA-Screen, ASW-Warfare and Reconaissance. The vehicle itself was created for the fictional country “Republic of Bergtal” as part of the Montferran Navy; a country founded in the SMH Roleplay Server. With the country roleplay ending, the ship has been declassified and made public. Service History The Adler has been deployed several times in active convoy escort missions, though devoid of any action against actual enemy forces, never firing her guns in anger. The original design had two twin 5-inch mounts and only a light complement of AA. Its design choice was to provide a “pocket destroyer” for the fleet in the early days of the Montferran Navy. However, as time went on and aircraft became a bigger and bigger threat, it was decided to downgrade the main armament to two single 5-inch mounts, freeing up weight for a heavier AA complement better suited to its main purpose of escorting convoys. Simply light the boilers in the boiler room and wait for pressure to build. When sufficient pressure is reached, you can head to the central control station and set the desired speed for each turbine in knots. Since the turbines are laid out in pairs, you can technically steer the ship using only the turbines, providing a degree of redundancy in case the rudder is destroyed. Important: By default, you steer the ship using the flybridge. If you want to steer the ship from the central command station, you must switch control to the “main helm.” The Adler-Cass also has a separate compartment dedicated to power generation, using leftover steam from the main turbines. If you lack power on your ship, you can open a bypass valve in the main turbine room to generate a large amount of power. Just keep in mind that this will deprive the main turbines of steam. You can also open the valves for the desalination plant to recover some boiler feedwater. How do i spawn it in? With any workbench near water. Its dimensions fit perfectly into the vanilla workbench. How to combat? The ship is designed with multiplayer combat in mind, so it is optimized in that regard as much as I could manage. You can use the central fire command station in the main battle station. Activate the fire director and the respective single 5-inch mounts, then set the range by pressing 1. Since it has a laser rangefinder, you must aim directly at the target. To reload the guns, simply turn them off individually, and they will reload after a short amount of time. Other than that i am sure you will figure things out. Everything should be labeled so you find your way through. I know it isn’t the best or most comprehensible system, but it does its job, and that’s good enough. I tried my best when making it and will certainly improve it in the future.
