Arahina | WHB Pilot launch
Arahina was built by Charles Bailey Jnr, of Auckland in 1925, and was commissioned as a Pilot boat for the Wellington Harbour board in November of that year.
Arahina was one of the many boats who went out to assist the Wahine when she struck rocks and capsized on April 10, 1968, saving 54 of her passengers.
She was retired in 1987, and was used as a pleasure craft, among other roles, finally ending up as a houseboat. unfortunately she now sits vacant at Queens Wharf in an increasingly distressing state
