Oi guv! Finally, the end-all of American English...an automatic spelling corrector! Using the UwUifier base, this mod automatically changes all Americanised text to British spellings. And it's built on top of a customisable text replacer! You can add whatever changes you like to the defs in an easy-to-use format.
Does this mean you can technically use this for your own nefarious means to edit any occurrence of text you want in the game, cloud to butt style? [i]Absolutely.[/i]
Addenda:
- the code section of this is old and not actively updated, so it's slow and inefficient to load, but at least it works
- you can totally add or replace anything in the Britishinator_TextReplacements section to magically convert all instances in the game (strings only). <except> is for words you want excluded from the change, <whole> is for whole word matches only and <checkAngled> is just to not mess up 'color' tags for coloured text in a description.
- the replacement uses a rather complicated array of regex, but there is a known issue where exceptions where there are letters before the match don't work properly (eg where the match would occur in the middle of an excepted word). we never figured out how to fix it, so instead you can just more precisely target things
- 'trousers' is opt-in because Aus/NZ/Canada doesn't use it, so simply uncomment the marked section in TextReplacements to enable it
