Flying Mining Machine!
Well, actually there is no mining machine.
Inspired by Ascension Megacorp and Sell of Minerals.
If they can scatter mining drones everywhere, why can’t my sky‑piercing, ground‑breaking colony deploy mining units to harvest remote resources?
This mod adds three Mining Unit Deployment Pods, respectively for:
Launching toward mineral sites detected by long-range mineral scanners;
And rich asteroid sites detected by the initial asteroid scanner and orbital scanner.
When the set operation duration ends, the pod automatically returns and brings the resources back to the colony.
Due to reasons that cannot be publicly disclosed, the mining efficiency is only NotPercentage.
Of course, everything mentioned above can be configured in-game.
A dedicated Mining Unit Launcher is also added.
Why not use the vanilla one? Uh… to avoid confusion, I guess.
Regarding the return logic: the deployment pod will prioritize landing near a Trade Beacon area, then a Comms Console, and lastly a Residential zone.
No secondary map is generated during the entire process.
So you won’t see the mining unit, and you also save one extra map tile of performance cost. Probably good.
Even if your reverse‑thrust starship leaves the planet, the pod can still deliver resources to your new colony — Ascension‑grade hyper‑precision logistics.
During mining operations, the target tile becomes inaccessible.
