Tokishiho Maru (Awaji Ferry)
MV Tokishiho Maru was built in 1970 for the Awaji Ferry Company of Japan, where she began her career serving domestic ferry routes with quiet reliability. During the 1980s, she was sold to Manila International Lines and renamed MV Diamond 1, marking a new chapter of service in Philippine waters.
Operating along the Batangas to Mindoro route, she became a familiar presence to travelers crossing the busy passage, connecting communities and supporting local commerce. In time, however, she faded from public record, and her ultimate fate remains unknown.
