Mag & Bullets : VGM Addon #1 brings the ammunition system from "Escape from Tarkov" to "Barotrauma", further customizing your underwater combat experience.

How to Use?

Requires the prerequisite mod: "Vanilla Gun Modify" (VGM)

All bullets can be crafted at the workbench in VGM. Each caliber offers Blank, Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP), Armor-Piercing (AP), Explosive (Exp), and the default Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) options. Each type has a different focus: some enhance breaching, some are designed for heavily armored targets, and others are just for fun.

This mod references the item storage mechanism of Material IO. Bullets are no longer bound to magazines; bullets can be manually unloaded from magazines, and empty magazines can be directly loaded with bullets for reloading.
Additionally, bullet variants have been enhanced. Some early-to-mid game calibers now have special ammunition available:
.45 (SMG ammo) and .30-06 (Bolt-action rifle ammo): Various dirty rounds carrying opioids, poisons, or even Husk parasites, plus reinforced rounds made from alien minerals.
12G (Shotgun ammo): Various utility rounds, as well as specialized rounds against Husks and Velonaceps.
6.8mm (Assault Rifle): Overpressure rounds with extremely high damage that degrade the weapon.
Harpoons: Harpoons with range limits removed, and harpoons capable of mounting grenades.

FAQ

Why didn't you just add this directly into VGM and instead release it separately?

This mod adds over 60 recipes to the workbench and rewrites the game's magazine mechanics. "Addon" usually contain my concepts for pushing the game's weapon system beyond "Vanilla" limits. I am quite certain that this mod has poor compatibility, and not everyone wants their workbench suddenly flooded with 50+ new bullet recipes. Therefore, I decided to release it separately to allow you to selectively enable certain features.
This is the first official addon for VGM, with 2-3 more planned for release within this year. Stay tuned.
Why can't I load different types of bullets into one magazine like in Tarkov?

Achieving this requires further modification of the underlying code, specifically treating each magazine as a "stack" rather than the current condition "magic." Such modifications typically require Lua. I don't think it's necessary to introduce Lua just for this small feature, especially since I haven't had time to learn how to use Lua yet. Of course, further modifications by others are very welcome.
Can I copy this code into my own mod?
