Eternal — Biological Immortality
Eternal — Biological Immortality
Death is never permanent, but it is never free.
Eternal gives your pawns true biological immortality. When an Eternal pawn dies, their corpse is preserved indefinitely. Click the resurrection gizmo to begin healing — missing limbs regrow through four biological phases, injuries heal in parallel, and the pawn returns to life once fully restored. All healing costs nutrition, creating a food debt your colony must repay.

Features
Elixir of Eternity
A craftable serum that grants immortality to any living pawn. Requires Ultra-tier research with three prerequisites and expert crafting skill. Can also appear as a rare quest reward for wealthy colonies. A confirmation dialog shows your current Eternal count before use.
4-Phase Body Part Regrowth
Missing limbs and organs regenerate through: Initial Formation, Tissue Development, Nerve Integration, and Functional Completion. Each phase is visible and trackable on the health tab.
Population Cap
Set a limit on how many Eternals your colony can sustain. Both living Eternals and corpses being healed count toward the cap. Configurable in mod settings.
Configurable Buffs
Toggle and fine-tune the consciousness multiplier and mood bonus for Eternal pawns through the Effects settings tab. Changes apply instantly in-game — no reload needed.
Nutrition Debt
Every point of healing accumulates food debt (default ratio 250:1). After resurrection, Eternals eat more until the debt is cleared. Lose an arm? Minor cost. Lose everything? Your colony pantry will feel it.
Corpse Preservation
Eternal corpses never rot. No rush to resurrect.
Map Protection
Temporary maps (quest sites, encounters) won't close while an Eternal corpse is present. If the map must close, corpses are teleported to your home map automatically.
Caravan Support
Eternals who die in caravans can be resurrected while traveling. Work priorities, policies, and schedules are restored on resurrection.
Living Healing
Living Eternals passively heal injuries and even permanent scars over time.
Fully Configurable
Healing rates, nutrition costs, buff values, population limits, and individual hediff behavior can all be adjusted in mod settings.

How It Works

Craft the Elixir of Eternity at a Fabrication bench (requires "Eternal Elixir Synthesis" research) — or find one as a rare quest reward

Use the Elixir on a living pawn to grant the Eternal trait

When an Eternal dies, their corpse is preserved and a Resurrect Eternal gizmo appears

Click the gizmo to begin healing — the resurrection cost is shown upfront

Critical parts regrow in strict order (Neck → Head → Skull → Brain) to prevent death loops

All other parts regrow in parallel once their parent parts exist

Once fully healed, the pawn resurrects with all work assignments intact

The accumulated food debt must be repaid through increased eating

Compatibility
Eternal includes dedicated patches for:

Odyssey DLC — Eternals left behind during ship departure safely crash-land

Vanilla Genetics Expanded — Gene-related hediffs interact correctly with healing

Save Our Ship 2 — Ship launch compatibility

RimImmortal — Both immortality systems can coexist without conflicts
Safe to add to existing saves.

Requirements

RimWorld 1.6

Harmony (must load before Eternal)

Known Limitations

Without the Elixir, the Eternal trait must be assigned manually (dev tools or scenarios)

Resurrection requires the corpse to exist (no recovery from total destruction)

Heavy food debt can strain colony resources significantly
