[TCO] Corpsebloom [TCO] Corpsebloom completely changes the way players interact with harbinger trees. turning them from a crematorium alternative into a medicine and cash crop while expanding even further on the anomalous qualities of the Harbinger. This mod is no longer receiving new content updates, but will still maintained as the game updates, Feel free to reuse and fork this mods content to your hearts content <3 [hr] Spoiler-Free Overview •Harbingers now have new reasons to be grown beyond bioferrite •New medicine balanced to be on-par with luciferium (config options) •New creepjoiner •New weather event (config options) •New textile cash crop (config options) •Two new anomalies added to the Codex •Bad luck! (config options) Compatibility This mod only patches the flammability of harbinger trees, so it should work with everything Preformance Impact Minimal to none. However the weather event causes a very slight dip for about 2 in game days. Balance: A blind run? definitely, a repeat? probably. But you can tweak the mod in the config to your own tastes. Combat Extended Compatible? That is a very good question! Spoilers (Recommended After First Playthrough) Harbinger Trees Harbinger trees have always seemed very flat to me for being an anomalous tree. Eating bodies is weird, but I thought there was definitely a lot more to the concept of an anomalous plant, Here's how the mod add onto the harbinger. Cutting harbinger trees now gives the player the "bad omen" effect, causing a negative event if the player cuts them down. It's usually best to wait until all your harbinger trees are in bloom and cut them at the same time. On the other hand, you could use this to get more negative events seperate from the storyteller. Harbingers now spawn a fruit that can be processed into devilstrand or ingested for the corpsebloom mantle, Corpsebloom Mantle The corpsebloom mantle is a lethal parasite that provides blunt armor, immunity, and numbs all pain. However, if the pawn does not receive a heart transplant, the parasite will eventually kill their host and devour the corpse, preventing a resurrection, leaving a new harbinger tree to repeat it's lifecycle! (The time to die from the parasite can be configured between 10-180 days) The mantle is hidden by default and requires a surgical inspection to be visible in the pawn, However they'll still receive all the benefits, Including a new ability thats permanently unlocked for pawns who make it to 60% severity. Harbinger's Breath Harbingers Breath: The new anomalous weather is a giant cloud of rotstink produced by the burning of a distant harbinger grove, This event gives the corpsebloom mantle and lung rot to all pawns and animals not under a roof. This lethal results in plenty of new harbinger trees for players to make use of.
