Sawyer Harbor Railway 0-6-2t Number 1

History: The Sawyer Harbor Railway (SHR) was in need of a small but sturdy tank engine to help run the harbor and replace their aging fleet. Number 1 was built as an 0-6-2t so that she could navigate the tight corners of the harbor. Since she was always stationed at the harbor, there wasn't much need to give her larger water tanks, resulting in the engine having a very short range. Number 1 excelled at her work for several decades before being put in storage at the dawn of the diesel age. After being stowed away for several years, she was found and restored, and now runs on a preserved line by the coast.
