After being banished from the Empire for breaking the laws of man and discovering a way to ascend beyond the strict psylink limitations of the Empire, a lazy, good for nothing, roboticist, and his two robot companions, head to a distant primitive Rimworld to con their way into godhood.
Upon discovering a 'thriving village' in an isolated desert, you change course a little too eratically and your ship crashes to the ground. Luckily, your drop pods eject to safety just in time. Unluckily, standing between you and what remains of your ship is a mighty river that you decide to name the River Denial, after it separated you and your resources.
Even worse still, the 'thriving village' turned out to be little more than an abandoned mining camp with nothing of value left behind. Stranded without your technology, most of your resources, and supplies, you're forced to rebuild and use whatever of your more technologically advanced skills remain to try and thrive in this hostile environment.
Your faction will be a Mechadroids.
Start with 3 people, chosen from 3.
