Luckily, the Delta squad was on bridge at the time and they managed to keep us in one piece just long enough to crashland on an uncharted planet. As the endless battle rages on, our bastion ship started breaking up in orbit and the emergency evacuation lights came on as our entire crew did the practised maneuver of getting the ♥♥♥♥ out of there.
The drop pods didn't all eject at the same time and a lot of the ones carrying your supplies and gear were destroyed en-route, so now you are stuck with but a few of your fellows and what supplies you could grab.
