Darklings - HAR

My own version of DrWalZ’s Darkling mod, from which I borrowed the name, original concept, and textures (the mod was abandoned by its creator). All XML and C# code is my own work, and I also upscaled the original textures. My Xenotype version (1.6) : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3694591182 Original mod (1.4) : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2997884833 This mod adds a playable race, the Darklings, monstrous humanoids with three clawed arms, three hideous eyes, and an enormous mouth filled with venomous fangs. Their terrifying bodies contain two hearts, three kidneys, and two livers, and through an unknown biological process they can heal scars, permanent injuries, and even regenerate lost limbs. Some observers claim they are capable of violent psychic attacks. Fortunately, Darklings are extremely rare and are most often encountered in the darkest, most polluted regions of the planet. Currently, scenarios and factions do not generate Darklings. To have one within a colony, you must capture one or spawn one through the dev mode or Character Editor. You can often encounter groups of wild Darklings in the ruins of the Scarred Lands (with Odyssey). They can also appear in areas with high pollution levels. These new encounters can be deadly if you venture in unprepared… And be wary of potential reinforcements should you manage to eliminate a group of these creatures. With Anomaly : Darklings (wild or otherwise) gain a special attack that deals electrical damage, powered by their Psy lobe. I’ve created new textures for the Darklings. If you prefer the old ones, simply open the folders and copy the two folders found in “Old Textures” directly into the “Textures” folder, then confirm the replacement when prompted. This operation will need to be repeated after any future updates. (My screenshots tend to be overexposed; the textures are less pink in‑game.) Known issue : Children cannot equip torso-covering apparel in the Character Editor mod, but everything works correctly during gameplay. A small C# patch is planned to fix this in a future update.
