Transponder Ranger

Version: 2C Descriptions: Converts transponder locator pulses into a range to narrow down a search area. Supports a indicator light pulsing with the transponder when source found and supports a buzzer to be configured to play a sound too. Features:

Converts transponder pulses into a range and outputs it as a number
Averages results into an average to cancel out jitter
Supports custom settable composite control sources such as instrument panels
Offers indicator light outputs and buzzer output to activate when transponder is found
Microcontroller have multiple tool tips for easier debugging
Known Issues:

Buzzer playback time is not reliable.
Input Output Nodes Legend: Required

Transponder Locator - Connected to the Transponder Locator
Toggle Transponder Locator or Composite Instruments - Turns on the locator
Transponder Range or Composite Instruments - Displays range to transponder
Optional

Transponder Pulse Speaker - If you have a buzzer you want to play a sound when a transponder is found.
Toggle Speaker or Composite Instruments - To enable the speaker output if it is connected to a buzzer
Transponder Pulse Indicator or Composite Instruments - if you want a indicator light to pulse when a transponder is found
Instructions: Installations:

Choose if you want to control the micro controller with composite signals (example, instrument panels, seat controls)
Choose if you want to present the range with the number output "Transponder range" or through a composite output "Instruments"
Choose which optional systems you want to make use of
Edit the microcontroller
move all unused input/output nodes outside of the microcontrollers white box area.
Resize the micro controller to only include the used nodes
Save your changes by updating the microcontroller
Connect your microcontroller nodes to the components
(If using composite inputs and outputs configure the microcontroller by dragging the sliders to occupy the desired channels)
Operation:

Toggle on the transponder
If the range result is 0 there is no transponder to range to.
If a range greater than 0 is detected then try moving in different directions and see if you are moving closer unless you know the general area of where the transponder is in, then move towards the center of the area.
Continue moving with the same direction as long as the range is decreasing.
When you can clearly see the range is increasing make 90 degree left or right turn and observe if range is increasing or decreasing. If the range is still increasing turn 180 degrees and the range should decrease.
Continue on this course until you find your transponder or if range is increasing again. If range is increasing repeat step 5 & 6.
The lowest range the transponder can register is 250m
