Buckshot Industrial Motors Mk-4 "Gerbil" Aircraft Tug/Artill
Buckshot Industrial Motors “Gerbil” Mk-4 Artillery Tractor/Aircraft Tug (Tug Build)
Built in the early 1904’s for use as a slow speed aircraft tug, the Mk-4 became one of the most produced support vehicles used by the USAAF. It’s wide base and twin-engine power plant was well suited for use on RAF-loaned airfields in England. The abundance of units in the DOD surplus stock after the war saw the vehicles be deployed for use as artillery tractors in any abrupt conflicts that trailed WW2. These units would later be sold off to third world nations where they continue to see limited use.
Buckshot’s success with the Mk-4 unit would see the company go on to buy out the crippled remains of Ma-Dun Heavy Industries in 1967. They would revive the “Gerbil” name in 1975 with the Mk-25 “Gerbil” Half-track Amphibious Plane Tug.
