Two solar versions of my DeLorean DMC 80 Bus - a simplified
Two versions of my solar powered self recharging bus for shuttle bus duties.
One is an older design that is just solar powered - this provides less load for the game running speed so can be left in the game so it can recharge its solar batteries whilst you are driving other vehicles - I would recommend fitting a 'keep active' block if you find that the batteries are not recharging enough, the other is a more complex vehicle, with an engine as well, so it's not just depending on the solar panels.
Driving a bus is a lot of fun and I use this vehicle for 'safe zone' type evacuations, as well as other land based rescues, or sometimes just delivering people brought in by boat to the nearest medical facility as these are sometimes quite a long walk from airport or boat dock.
Vehicle drives very nicely - left hand on the A/D buttons and the right hand on the 'Down' arrow key.
Vehicle is raised on its wheels as compared to the standard bus and is 4 wheel drive for improved off road ability.
Press '1' to set auto drive and steer with the A/D keys and cut the power with the 'Down' arrow key - left/right arrow keys operate the brakes if you need them.
When manoeuvring, leave autodrive (key 1) off and use the up arrow key to accelerate - this also provides extra acceleration when autodrive is on.
The solar 'self charging battery' just looks after itself.
For anyone wanting to drive a conventional transmission bus, there is my Leyland Titan with a six cylinder engine and five speed automatic transmission - again with the 'autodrive' driver assist system that is featured on this vehicle.
