F/V Cod-Father (Read desc for instructions)

Howdy fellas! Thanks for clicking on a small WS creator's build! SPECS 16.25 Meters long 6.25 Meters wide Cost: $59303 American dollars Marine Seine boom to add pots to the stack Block and Coiler to pull pots from seabed 13 Knots of true patriotic power 1 Bed Head (toilet): Bucket o' Shame on deck. INSTRUCTION MANUAL: Copied from Skeeter80's F/V Victory which inspired me a lot. How To Fish First lets go over the deck equipment and its uses (Same equipment for the FV Brotherhood) -Power Block (or just block): this is the little grey pulley that hangs off the side, low enough for you to connect things to it. Its used to pull pots from the seafloor. -Picking Boom: This is the black boom that extends to the right side of the boat. Use this when your pulling pots from the stack (its much more efficient than the crane). Its also used to pick pots out of the water from your block so you can set it on the launcher. -Launcher: Used to launch pots. Like real life this launcher allows you to tip the pot over the deck to empty the crab. Make sure the pot is connected to the launcher when your emptying crab unless you want it to fall on the deck. -Crane: Used to stack pots back onto the back deck. Its also used to put crab pots on the launcher if you have a high stack of crab pots but you can sometimes get away with using the picking boom. Crab pot: Im sure you know what this is already. when the pot is connected to the launcher there's a button bottom right and top left that will release the crab. Basic Procedure (same procedure for the FV Brotherhood) Im assuming the launcher is already empty on setting steps. Setting 1. Hook the picking boom line onto the top of your crab pot (one of the ones on the stack) 2. pull it onto the launcher. I find that angling the 2nd launcher pivot up makes the pot slide right into position. 3. hook a line onto the anchor of the crab pot. Make sure its the anchor that's on the right side. dont connect the side your holding to anything. 4. while holding the rope still dump the pot in the water. Make sure your no deeper than 35 meters because ropes have a max length of 40 meters. 5. When the pot hits the seafloor hook it onto your bouy. Make sure the buoy is on the connector by the control panel, there should already be one there. If its on the floor when you connect it, there wont be enough slack to throw it over the side. TIP: you can tell if the pot hits the sea floor because the line in your hand will stop bouncing so much. Retrieving 6. There is a grey pole hanging by the bait station that will be used to snag the buoy. Connect the pole to the picking boom and hang it over the side. Then drive the boat towards the buoy you wanna pick up. Once the pole hooks onto the buoy pull it up. If you want you could probably just pick the buoy out of the water if you crouch on the launcher. 7. Once the buoy is up hook the pot line onto the power block. start raising it up, but don't forget to move the buoy and the pole to the side. 8. Once its up hook the bottom connector onto the picking boom, then disconnect the pot-to-block line. I wouldn't connect the picking boom to the middle anchors on the pot since it can make it harder. 9. lift it up and set it on the launcher. You can use the same trick on step 2 to get the pot to slide onto the launcher. 10. connect the pot to the launcher, raise the second pivot and watch the crab spill onto the deck! from here you can either set back or stack using the crane. Built in 1989 and refitted with new deck equipment in 2007, the Codfather is up to date.. Except radar, no one knows why that isn't aboard, or a fish finder... The Cod Father was built to replace the aging F.V Late Dawn, which was built in 1967. The Late Dawn is on my profile if you want to mess with it, its a week old as of this release. Credits: skeeter80: Crab Pots and buoys skeeter80: The Hull (I tried making one but i failed miserably every time) ZE Modular Engine Controller Stormworks devs for blessing us with crabbing DO NOT REUPLOAD! These projects take time and I will file a report against you, dont be that person! This was a little start of summer 4 day build spent about 20 hours on it, so i would appreciate if you subscribed and shared! # KNOWN ISSUES Its a little tippy to the starboard side at spawn, fixable by hand shifting the pots. Other than that nothing I can do. Low detail in interior? Its for MP lag reasons. # FIXED ISSUES AND FEATURES Feature: Added cool lookin ropes on bow (6/19/25) Feature: Added a bucket of shame (6/19/25) Issue: Low Physics bugging out seine boom, I did what I could and it shouldn't bug out like crazy no more (6/19/25) # Unfixable Issues Pots making boat lean: I can't fix this as how small the little hull is, I could make the pots less heavy but then they wont sink. Buoys not floating? That may be an issue with your computer.
