MS Delta 1930 (Blow Up-Able)

CANADIAN COASTAL STEAMER "DELTA" Like her sister ship, the Delta is a simple and sturdy coastal steamer that'll get your cargo where it needs to go anywhere long the east Canadian coast. LORE Construction of the Delta, started only a month after construction of her sister ship the Gamma began in 1929 for Haymaker & Sons. of Halifax. From 1930 to 1937, the Delta and the Gamma were pretty much indistinguishable from each other. The 2 ships began life hauling general goods from port to port along the eastern coast of Canada. That was until September 21st, 1937, when the Delta was steaming only an hour behind the Gamma from ST John's to Charolette Town both loaded with a popular red themed, American soft drink, when the Gamma received major damage to her aft cargo hatch and here starboard side, and foundered. Thankfully, the Gamma's wireless operator sent out 3 SOS calls before the ship completely sank, and all 10 crew were discovered atop the Gamma's shredded pilot house, and rescued by the crew of the Delta. However, this wouldn't be the only time the Delta would attempt and succeed at a daring rescue. On July 23rd, 1939, the American cargo ship SS Octavia which was owned by The Donald Company of New York, New York, was diverted to Halifax to bunker up on coal, as the amount of coal she had was underestimated after leaving Southampton for New York. During this diversion to Halifax, the Octavia ran into a nor' easter that pounded the ship for hours. At around 9 AM, the rain subsided however the wind and waves were still terrible. An inspection of the forward cargo hold, revealed that the ship had taken severe damage. Though the ship was flooding slowly, it was concluded that the ship was going to sink. For hours, the radio operators sent out message after message however the distance of the Octavia's wireless set was pretty bad and no ship heard their cries for help... Except one... The MS Delta was en route from Charlotte Town to Halifax when she her Radio Operator, picked up one of the Octavia's SOS calls and the Delta's course was changed and for 2 hours, she traveled 30 miles from the coast, and out into the sea. Braving the North Atlantic's fury until she reached the badly listing SS Octavia. at 12:06, every man from the Octavia, loaded into the starboard lifeboat along with the ships cat, which was a severe overloading, and rowed over, to the Delta in the around 10 to 15 foot tall waves, and amazingly, every man from the Octavia, successfully made it aboard the Delta. And the Delta, having once again saved the entire crew of a stricken ship, sailed back and successfully made it to Halifax at 3:03 PM. As for the Octavia, she was last observed in sinking condition by her crew and crew of the Delta before they sailed back to shore. She likely rolled over and foundered a couple hours after they left. After this, the Delta's career was completely uneventful. She continued sailing for Haymaker & Sons. even after they merged with the Richard Ice & Co. (Also known as Ice Lines) in 1946. Receiving a new coat of paint in 1947, and ultimately being scrapped, in 1950. HOW TO MOVE There is a throttle lever on the ships motor labled "Throttle" in the engine room. PS. You don't have to play with infinite electricity for this ship to work however if you are in custom mode I do recommend it. HOW TO SINK There is no sink switch as in the lore for the ship she was scrapped, however there is some C4 in the wireless room if you want to sink the ship anyways. MISC This ship wasn't really based on anything specific however a bit of inspiration was taken from this ship made by "hming" https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3403398280 PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ANY ISSUES WITH THE SHIP AND I WILL TRY TO FIX THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
