(WIP) Long Beach Nuclear Cruiser | The Sea Power Collection

The first nuclear warship
Introduction This build is a 1:3 scale of the American Long Beach nuclear guided-missile cruiser. This specific variant is based on the original, pre-Tomahawk fit. Long Beach is the one of the ships included in the Sea Power Collection, which features military vessels from the 1960s to the 1990s, mainly those present in the popular naval combat game Sea Power.
Credits This build uses the FNTEK CNR 3440 Compact Nuclear Reactor made by funiek, which you can find here .
Necessary mods Despite being built in a 1:3 scale, Long Beach doesn’t fit in the vanilla workbench. Therefore, you’ll need modded, bigger workbenches to spawn it. You can find the one I use here
*Disclaimer* This build is currently Work In Progress, so it's in an incomplete state. The interior is extremely basic. That said, feedback on design and performance is very much welcome, so feel free to leave me your suggestions in the comments/threads!
Description USS Long Beach (CLGN-160/CGN-160/CGN-9) was a nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser in the United States Navy and the world's first nuclear-powered surface combatant. She was the third Navy ship named after the city of Long Beach, California. She was the sole member of the Long Beach class, and the last cruiser built for the United States Navy to a cruiser design; all subsequent cruiser classes were built on scaled-up destroyer hulls (and originally classified as destroyer leaders). Long Beach was laid down 2 December 1957, launched 14 July 1959 and commissioned 9 September 1961 under the command of then-Captain Eugene Parks Wilkinson, who previously served as the first commanding officer of the world's first nuclear-powered vessel, the submarine USS Nautilus. She was deployed to Vietnam during the Vietnam War and served numerous times in the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf. But by the 1990s, nuclear power was deemed too expensive to use on surface ships. Long Beach was decommissioned on 1 May 1995 instead of receiving her third nuclear refuelling and proposed upgrade.
Performance (in game) - 1x 3440w naval nuclear fission turbine reactor (electrcity generator) - 2x Big Electric motors (connected to the driveshafts) - 2x Big Batteries (for extra range in case of engine malfunctions) - Operational speed: 10+ knots (1/3 of the real top speed, in line with the scale) - Flank speed: 11.5 knots
Weapons (non-functional) - 2 × twin Mk-10 launchers with Terrier SAMs (later replaced with Standard ER SAMs) - 1 × twin Mk-12 launcher with Talos SAMs (later removed) - 1 × 8-cell ASROC launcher - 2 × 5 in (127 mm) guns - 2 × triple 12.75 inch ASW torpedo tubes for Mk 44 or Mk 46 ASW torpedoes
How to use - Head to the bridge through the entrances located either side of the vessel - Activate the nuclear reactor with the button labeled as “activate reactor” (located on the control panels on the aft section of the bridge) and wait for the power output display to reach 3440w - On the right side of the helm, select the desired power output, and the vessel should start moving straight away - Steer with the A/D keys - The light controls, door mechanisms, and chaff controls are located on the control panels on the aft section of the bridge - The reverser is situated left of the helm - The use of the helm monitor is recommended for better visibility (controls located right of the helm)
