Voice-Acted Radio Chatter

- Updated to 1.4 - Removed babies crying causing the civil unrest base alert - More voices being added in one last big update. After this, the mod will be considered finished --- "HOW DOES IT WORK?" This mod adds voice actors to the game as well as unique alarm and event sounds using the voice of overwatch from Half-life. Event sounds can be disabled. You can select and deselect voices individually in the mod menu, so that you can use only the voices you want and disable voices you don't like or don't fit with your style. For a game in progress, accessing the mod settings let you choose a specific VA for the desired colonist. Simply select a colonist and choose their desired VA. You can alter the minimum-maximum randomized cooldown for voice lines. This way if you feel they talk too little, or too much, you can customize the cooldown for the different responses. This so that the radio chatter fits your own pacing. The mod customization options are fairly simple and intuitive so they should be easy to understand. However if you do need help with anything feel free to ask. - "WHAT ARE THE VOICES?" The voices are from all over. Mostly other games. Like Mass Effect, KoTOR, Baldurs Gate, Xcom, Deus Ex etc.etc. Some from movies (oh hai mark! yes I added Tommy Wiseau). Some other games like NWN and PS:T too as to what comes to mind atm. - "MANY OF THE VOICES DO NOT SEEM TO FIT TOGETHER!" They are not supposed to. I went for a high variety of voices. Which can be enabled and disabled. Specifically for roleplay and immersion. So that people can customize the voices to fit their characters, themed playthroughs, styles, character personality etc. This isn't a "here it is just go" mod. It is supposed to be customized to tailor your own taste. Allow you to have voices that together fits your characters or colonies. There are regular "boring" voices. Dark and edgy voices. Naive voices. Villain voices. Heroic voices etc. One set which sound silly for one person, may be the exact thing another person wanted and so on. - RECOMMENDATION Create a game and simply try it out and experiment. Find the voices you like and disable those you don't like. Adjust settings. Reminder that giving a specific colonist a specific voice only works in-game. Not in the main menu. - "FUTURE PLANS?" Maybe more voices. Maybe adjustable sound for individual voices. Personally I play without music on so hearing their voices isn't an issue for me. Maybe more triggers which has voice acting. First thing is to see if people encounter any bugs or issues, solve technical stuff. Feel free to leave suggestions or ideas. - AUTHORS Commissioned by me. Coding and XML by Taranchuk. - Demo Video Added in the Youtube link. This was put together to give people a quick general idea of what the mod does but does not go into details about the features, which should (hopefully) be simple and intuitive.
