Simple Self-Loading Container to Rail Car Waggon
Overview
This simple container rail car can be released from rails and driven with it's own wheels directly to a container to pick up. This allows to start trading containers even early in career mode, due to the simple tech involved.
This is an improvement over the much more expensive Modular System, due to being less complex (only a single grid, connecting the containers to the rails) and way cheaper.
You can even traverse on top of the wagon, if you're the kind who likes to run on top of fast moving trains. ;-)
Operation
The Wagon brakes, as long as it isn't connected front or aft.
To deploy, man the controls and press 1. It disengages from the rails.
The Car can no be controlled by four sets of independent electric wheels. Those allow the Car to maneuvre tightly.
Pressing 2 allows the Car to strafe sideways to slide over containers for pickup.
For Pickup engage lower connectors. Move the container to the upper connectors by deploying the car twice while the upper connectors are engaged. This allows you to move a round with more ground clearance. But keep in mind to disable the lower connectors when redeploying!
Ensure both connectors secured to container when on rails!
