Wabash Shipbuilding Company for the Lakshmi Ocean Steamship Company, Melek was fitted out over several months, fitted with lavish interiors and boasted one of the largest dining room wells at sea, however after years of tensions in the Meier region of the world, war had finally broken out between the nations of Sniffistan and Caledonia, which had oppressed the Sniffistani people in its territories for far too long. Melek was immediately requisitioned by the S.R.C. and hastily converted into a hospital ship, her fittings removed and her once mighty well now reduced to a small, depressing space. During her tenure as a hospital ship, she made several trips between Spycakes and Uran. On May 23rd, 1914, a few months into the war, Melek was en route to Spycakes when the crew aboard spotted a periscope peaking from below the surface. Immediate actions were taken, and she safely arrived in Spycakes a few days later. This was one of several in a string of instances where Caledonian forces targeted the Melek, and yet she persisted. Soon after the war ended and peace returned to the Meier continent, Melek was withdrawn from service and refitted with an updated interior and the removal of rooms considered as unnecessary, for example the well in the dining room was completely closed up and replaced with a dome, the secondary bridge was removed and replaced with a compass platform, and along with these removals she received a extra pair of lifeboats on her after deck. she returned to service on April 30th 1919 and sailed her inaugural return voyage from Spycakes to Uran, marking a return to normalcy and peace, however this would not last long as in December of 1928 on one of Melek's christmas season voyages she was rammed by a small ferry named the "KANUKA". Almost immediately after being rammed, Melek rolled over and sank within 20 minutes, killing nearly all aboard. This variant of the Melek is the exact same as on her final voyage. In the aftermath of her sinking the Spycakes <-> Uran service was completely shut down until relief efforts were finished. a year after Melek sank the steamers "COLORADO" and "CAROLINA" entered service to take her place.
