The SS Lippe is a fictional German ocean liner from 1894. It is completely custom and not based on any particular company. It does not fit into a default workbench, it does however fit into an xml edited workbench. You must also spawn it in with a mission editor since the game does not load all of it in if you use the regular spawn vehicle button.
The ship is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots with a beam of 11.75 meters and a length of 85.75 meters.
This ship is almost entirely furnished. Interior spaces consist of 3 passenger decks for accommodating 2 classes.
The tank top houses the forward cargo hold, 2 boiler rooms, an engine room, and the generator room. This generator/turbine is vital for the ship as without it there is no electric power so I heavily advise you light up 1 boiler minimum immediately after spawning the ship in, unless you want a permanent blackout of course.
C deck houses the crew bunks, crew mess, and the equipment room at the very bow. The first-class cabins and the first-class boarding doors can be found amidships on this deck. The third-class dining saloon, third-class pantry, third-class cabins, and third-class lounge, as well as the sick bay, can all be found on this deck, towards the stern, along with the third-class boarding door. The third class lounge also features working chess and checkers, located on the table.
The B deck features a promenade running the entire length of the ship. Almost the entirety of B deck is dedicated to housing first-class amenities. Towards the front of B deck you will find the first-class lounge/bar, the grand staircase, and the first-class pantry, as well as the first-class dining saloon towards the stern, covered by a giant skylight; a blind person couldn't miss it. Towards the very, very stern of the ship, the B deck houses the second-class tower and second-class stairway.
A deck, aka the boat deck, is the smallest deck in terms of accommodations or interior spaces. The 2 officer quarters and the captains cabin are amidships on this deck, behind the second funnel.
Towards the front of the boat deck, you will find the bridge from where you can control the ship. The ship itself has 3 steering wheels: one at the bridge, which is also the only one capable of sounding the foghorn and steam whistle; one inside the inner bridge; and one at the docking bridge at the stern. From within the inner bridge, you can monitor the ship's power level, close watertight doors, and turn on the deck lights for all 3 passenger decks. There are 3 navigation lights, which can also be turned on using a key button at their respective locations, the port and starboard bridge wings. The stern navigation light can be activated using a key button on the steering wheel within the docking bridge. The bridge wings also host the morse/signal lamps which you can activate with a push button near them.
STARTUP PROCEDURE
1. Go to the tank top and turn the ignition key on the boilers, then open the air dampers which are also on the face of the boiler.
IMPORTANT: This ship has a strange issue that I haven't been able to fix. There are 8 boilers in total; however, if you try to light all of them, then the last boiler breaks for some reason. Because I can't find a way to fix this, I recommend you light 6 boilers max to avoid uneven steam distribution and any issues that arise with that.
2. Once steam builds up, you can control the ship via the steering wheels and order telegraphs at the bridge. There are also 2 telegraphs in the engine room that will automatically fulfill any orders from any of the bridges; by default, this is on. There is a key button on the engine room telegraph pole that you can use to switch this to manual, meaning that any orders to and from the engine room and bridge have to be done completely by hand. I recommend you leave it on auto if you are playing solo.
The lifeboat controls are located near each lifeboat and are pretty much self explanatory. Raise button to raise the winch, lower to lower it, disconnect, yada yada. You do have to disconnect the ropes manually, by the way. Also, there are extra rope storage compartments located on both sides of the superstructure where the funnels begin, just use the button on the superstructure to open it.
