The RaXPol (Rapid X-Band Polarimetric Radar) was built in 2010 to monitor severe weather events using a X-Band Doppler Radar, similar to the more well known DOW. Now you can enjoy this vehicle in Stormworks.
This vehicle uses a Radar on the back of the vehicle to scan targets up to 8KM away. The Radar can be controlled from the front passenger seat and the sweep can be viewed from the right back seat. The RaXPol comes with an onboard weather station based on MrNJersey's Weather Microcontroller. Furthermore, the RaXPol comes equipped with 2 equipment boxes, one with clothing and the other with repair and medical supplies. The car has a basic RX Huge with simple controls in the front of the car.
Now when you get the radar up and running, the car will start shaking a ton, this is why 3 pistons have been mounted onto the side of the vehicle, simply enter the front of the vehicle and there will be a lever for "Pistons", fully deploy the pistons and the shaking will be minimised.
Why choose the RaXPol over just a simple Radar mounted on your car? Well, the RaXPol has the ability to change it's direction on the Y axis, allowing for more targeted radar scans, making the RaXPol perfect for everything from Search And Rescue operations to being a mobile Air Traffic Control system.
Maintenance has been prioritised in this build, the engine and other key systems have hatches to allow for ease of access, simply access the top of the vehicle from a ladder on the rear,
NOTE - Ensure the radar is not spinning / operational when attempting to perform maintenance, as the radar may knock you off the truck and result in injury.
