Build a trading post manned by a droid. Sell things you don't need, to buy the things you do need.
--- New Production Building: Trading Post ---
This mod adds a buildable Trading Post to the Production tab. Once built, click on the Trading Post to create Bills which allow pawns to buy and sell items. Many items can be bought and sold here, instead of having to wait for a trader! However, items cost more to buy and sell for less than a trader, for balance.
Trading Posts should be connected to power - however they can work without power, but trading speed will be reduced.
--- New Production Building: Trading Droid ---
Trading Droids can be built to man the Trading Posts to increase trading speed. Without a droid, trading speed is very slow. Trading Droids must be placed directly next to a Trading Post in order to increase trading speed, and this bonus does not stack with additional Trading Droids.
--- How to Trade ---
Click on the Trading Post to create Bills to buy or sell items. If you create a "Sell" bill, you can click on the "Details" of the bill to open the Filters. Use filters to toggle which items can or cannot be sold. Only items that have a Market Value within the range printed on the bill can be sold using that bill. There are multiple bills for multiple Market Value ranges, due to the different yields of each bill. If you're not sure which bill an item can sold from, open the item's Details ( i ) window and look for the item's Market Value.
You can set up automatic trades by setting a bill to "Do until you have X". That way, if you fall below a certain quantity for a specific resource, your pawns will go buy and sell when they are doing Social work. You can also command them to trade any time.
Please note, Weapons are valued at 20% their Market Value when selling (same as selling to a regular trader). Also, Apparel sell value is 10% it's Market Value at the Trading Post to prevent exploits of selling tainted apparel for full value, so regular traders aren't obsolete when selling apparel.
--- Trading is considered a "Social" action ---
Pawns will gain Social XP while trading and mood buff from Social Passion. Trade prices are affected by the pawn's Negotiation Skill (which is governed by the Social skill). Speech and Hearing are important for the efficiency of trading.
Higher Negotiation Skill will result in better trades. At Level 0 Social, pawns receive -60% less Silver when selling and receive -60% of purchased goods when buying (to a minimum of 1). At Level 8, buying and selling functions normally at 100%. At level 20, pawns sell for +90% more Silver and receive +90% more product when buying.
Enjoy!
