"An advanced man-portable coil-driven heavy machine gun firing 14.5x94mm Rocket/Ramjet-Assisted Ferromagnetic bolts. Its ammunition is less complex and more versatile than charge-shot weapons, but just as capable against heavy armour by virtue of high caliber. Though the bolts are initially launched with relatively low velocity and thus recoil, it still makes use of a recoil-balancing counterweight. After leaving the muzzle the ramjet/rocket quickly accelerates the bolt to high velocities, but be aware that the jet-assisted bolts perform poorly in oxygen-deficient atmospheres."
a concept for a spacertech machine gun that doesn't use charged-shot tech and therefore uses cheaper ammo. It's more expensive to research and manufacture the gun itself, however. its bullets are more or less equivalent to 14.5x114mm.
