Have you ever found the perfect pawn, lots of passions and good skills, and has great traits like beautiful, industrious, and..... repulsive? Just one trait can ruin an otherwise perfect pawn... until now. I’ve noticed over the years that there are multiple ways to change a pawn's age, appearance, passions, and skills, but there was never a way to change their traits that didn’t come bundled with a bunch of other stuff. This mod aims to address that workshop deficiency by adding craftable serums that can extract, erase, or inject new traits into your pawns. One new research tab: Trait Serums Three new items added: a Trait Extractor, Trait Eraser, and Trait Injector. Three new fabrication bench crafting bills: See above --- Trait Extractor --- A single-use item for use on prison escapees, random passers-by, or those poor souls who have eaten without a table, this nefarious item will extract a chosen trait and then store it for later use. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view), the procedure of forcibly stripping a trait from someone causes extreme neural trauma which results in death. The now-filled extractor can then be used to inject the extracted trait into a person of your choice. This results in a long-lasting (but relatively harmless) 15 day psychic coma while the brain rewires itself. Craftable at Fabrication Bench, Bought/Sold by Exotic Goods Traders, Can be a Quest Reward Crafting Costs: 1 x Skilltrainer of any type (NOT psy-trainers) 5 x Advanced Components 2000 x Silver 500 x Plasteel 200 x Gold --- Trait Eraser --- Much more benign than the extractor, the trait eraser is exactly what it sounds like; it erases a chosen trait. Unlike the extractor however, this will not cause death, it will only place the pawn in a 15 day coma after which they wake up perfectly fine. Craftable at Fabrication Bench, Bought/Sold by Exotic Goods Traders, Can be a Quest Reward Crafting Costs: 1 x Skilltrainer of any type (NOT psy-trainers) 3 x Advanced Components 1000 x Silver 250 x Plasteel 100 x Gold --- Trait Injector --- Unlike the extractors and erasers, the injector comes preloaded with a trait ready to to be used. While the traits will be specified when bought from traders or as quest rewards, the inefficient crafting process used in their creation will mean that crafted injector bills ALWAYS result in random traits. Like the extractor and eraser, use of an injector on a person will place them in a comfortable 15 day psychic coma where they dream about rainbows, butterflies, and eating at a table. Craftable at Fabrication Bench, Bought/Sold by Exotic Goods Traders, Can be a Quest Reward Crafting Costs: 1 x Skilltrainer of any type (NOT psy-trainers) 1 x Advanced Component 500 x Silver 125 x Plasteel 50 x Gold *** Research and Crafting *** As a spacer tech level research option, trait serums fall into their own research tab, found after advanced fabrication. They require both a fabrication bench and a multi-analyzer to create. *** Compatibility *** This should be compatible with everything as it pulls from the pool of available traits instead of relying on a static list. It doesn't alter anything, it just adds some new items and a new mechanic to the game. It should be safe to add mid-game, but as with all mods I'd recommend starting a new game if removing it.
