Nord 3.1201-3.1290 "Super Pacific"
The Chemins de Fer du Nord class 3.1201-3.1290, was a class of express steam locomotives built between 1923 & 1931, & they were widely known as "Super Pacifics" because of their high performance, capable of outputting 45,000 pounds of tractive effort & reaching speeds as high as 120 kilometers per hour.
Instructions
Start Up
When starting the locomotive up, first locate the damper valve on the right side of the firebox & open it fully. Then turn the lighter switch below the firebox to light the fire, the lighter can be then turned off & the fire will continue to burn. If you want to kill the fire simply close the damper. Then go to the right side of the tender & connect the hose between the tender & the locomotive, the hose is pretty easily accessible but the ports where the hose is connected are underneath. Then the injector valve on the right side of the backhead can be opened to start pumping water into the boiler. Once that is done, cut in the airbrakes with the key below the brake stand on the left, release the handbrake on the tender, & flip the "Train Power" switch to share electricity with any carriages or wagons your pulling.
Driving
This locomotive uses gearboxes to simulate cutoff on a real locomotive. The higher the reverser position, the more torque, the lower the position, the more speed, increase the cutoff when starting or climbing a hill & decrease it when speed is needed. When the reverser position is negative the locomotive will move backwards, & the position of the reverser is displayed with a gauge. The regulator controls how much steam is sent to the engine, running with the regulator fully open will drain the boiler pressure, which reduces how much power you can get & also the generator won't run if the pressure is to low. (Generator starts if battery drops below 90% & runs till it's back at 100%) The brakes are controlled with the stand on the right of the drivers seat, applying the brake will increase the brake pressure & releasing it will set the brake pressure back to zero. This locomotive also has a switch setter that works with the ZE Smart Railroad Signals add-on, without this add-on the switch setter won't work, but the rest of the locomotive will.
