Series XXVII Submarine

Introducing the Series XXVII Submarine! It has a light hull based on the Type XXI U-boats and a pressure hull based on Type VII U-boats. It can carry 8 Type II Torpedoes, which are some of the most advanced torpedoes Stormworks has seen in recent times. It has a top speed of 20 knots. When using the Crush Depth addon, it implodes at 185 meters depth. The sub carries 2 large auto cannons for air defense. When going at low speed, it can run submerged for around 30 minutes. Has enough beds for 8 people to sleep at one time. Includes a higher quality kitchen and toilet than competitors. It is incredibly stealthy and has 6 sonar decoys in case of an emergency. Leaving Port: Enter the submarine through the door on the right side of the Conning Tower. Go to the Engine Room, which is located 2 rooms behind the control room. Bring the engine throttles full, turn the Coolant Systems on, and then hold the starters until the engines are at 60 RPS. Proceed to the Electrical room just aft of the Engine Room, and bring the Diesel Clutches and Propeller Clutches to full. Return to the Engine Room and bring the throttles down to 0.65 to prevent overheating. Submerging: Press the flood ballast buttons for the starboard and port tanks, and use the forward and aft tanks to keep the sub level. If you plan not to use the Snorkel, close the air valves on the engines, set the Diesel Clutches to 0, and set the Motor Throttles to around 0.2. Once water is about halfway up the main air intakes, press the “Deploy Dive Planes” Button, set depth hold to your desired depth, and turn on Depth Hold. Surfacing: Press the blow ballast buttons for the tanks that you have flooded and set the depth hold to 0. Hydrophone Operation: Sit in the Hydrophone/Radio seat located in the room just forward of the control room. Raise the volume of the hydrophone and then rotate it in a sweeping motion. When an object is detected, it will provide both visual and audio information, allowing you to know the distance of the target. Once you have a general idea of where the target is, it is recommended to bring the volume down to get a more precise location. Firing Torpedoes: Go to the periscope in the conning tower and aim it at the target, and flip the “Enter Data” switch on the right. The viewing scope should light up green when the computer is successfully entering the data. Open the torpedo hatches with the controller on the right. Set the lead settings to be roughly accurate. (Negative Angular lead is left, and Positive is right) Once you are happy with your lead, turn off the “Enter Data” Switch and hold the Fire Button for half a second. The torpedoes switch to sonar guidance once they’re near their target, so you don’t need to be super accurate with the lead. Close the torpedo hatches and go to the torpedo room, press the “Drain Tube” Buttons, and open the “Drain Air” Valves for a few seconds. Echosounder: Turn it on with the “Echosounder” Switch and then hold the “Pulse Sea Floor” Button until the dial reaches 0. When the dial reaches 0, it will send out a sound wave. When the Echosounder beeps, the dial displays the distance to the seabed. Manual Depth Keeping: Once the ballasts are flooded, use the Forward Dive Planes to go up and down and use the Aft Dive Planes to keep the pitch of the submarine around 0. Running the Diesel Engines at Periscope Depth: When holding at 7 meters depth, raise the snorkel at the depth hold console. Scuttling: Start flooding every ballast. Press the scuttle button at the Warnings Desk in the Control Room. (If you don’t flood the ballasts, it will take a long time to sink.) For extra damage, throw a grenade into the AA ammo storage located on the left side of the conning tower.
