The MK 1-R LifePod
This is a very easy to attach and use escape pod, built to work on just about any vehicle, and to keep the occupant alive in almost any circumstances, Land Sea and Air. Simply plug it in, and when worst comes to worst, detach and hit the transponder.
1. Specs and Supplies:
Cost: $7,467
Weight: 534
Capabilities:
1. Attachment by docking hatch on top or bottom
2. Space for 1 occupant
3. Emergency lift rockets
4. Emergency parachute
5. Hand crank generator
6. Built in transponder and emergency lights
7. Electric water pump
8. Heater
9. Top electric connectors and rope anchors (rope included)
10. 2 top launched flares and 1 top launched infrared flare
Equipment:
1. Underwater welding torch (for pod repairs)
2. Fire extinguisher
3. Oxygen mask
4. Handheld radio
5. First Aid Kit
6. Flare Gun (and reloads)
7. Compass
2. Installation:
1. Spawn the vehicle you want to attach it to
2. Select “Selection Grid” and load this vehicle
3. Before spawning the vehicle, line it up with the area you want it attached
4. Place a “Hinged Dock Hatch” on your vehicle to match up with the pod
4a. Remember to have the hinge of the hatch you placed lined up with the hatch of the pod
4b. Make sure your hatch has its magnet enabled
4c. Add some way for your hatch to automatically close when the pod disconnects (easiest way is to directly connect the “connected” and “open” logic nodes)
5. Paste the pod (flat against the vehicle)
6. Select the green microcontroller, and choose if the pod is attached on its top or bottom (not your vehicle’s top or bottom, the pod’s)
7. If you want, connect the electrics connection of your hatch to the pods hatch so it will share power with the larger vehicle. Consider putting an electric charger on your vehicle so if you lose power the pod's batteries are not also drained, and connecting the whole system (including the vehicle's hatch and any buttons attached to it) to only the pod's electrical system, and the charger. If you lose power this way, the magnet will also stay powered off of the pod's supply
3. Usage:
1. Have an emergency (pod does not cause those usually)
2. Get into pod and take seat in the chair
3. Activate light (top all the way to your right from the seat)
4. Close hatch and release it’s magnet (using the yellow buttons on the top and bottom the control panel)
IF WATER IN POD: Look to your bottom right and hit the “pumps”
OPTIONAL: Use the red “EMERGENCY ROCKET” and “EMERGENCY CHUTE” if needed for escape
5. Reach surface (white light above you shows you are at the surface, or use the depth dial
6. Activate “Fresh Air” valve in front of you (to equalise pressure)
7. Activate “emergency lights and transponder” on control panel
8. Battery level and generator in front of you
9. Whenever you think you should, hit the “FLARE LOCK” switch to unlock the top flares, and launch them as needed
Other Variants (existing and future):
1. Weapons dlc variant (planned)
2. Multiple occupant variant (planned)
3. MK 2 (eventually)
4. Ideas?
Submarine in images is the HMS Keres (link below), I have used this as a test bed for all of my pods, and am a big fan of it. Go give it a try!
