HISTORY
De Zeven Provinciën was an 80-gun Dutch ship of the line, built in 1664-65 for the Admiralty of De Maze in Rotterdam. The ship served as Admiral Michiel de Ruyter's flagship during the Second Anglo-Dutch War, taking part in the Dutch victory at the Four Days Battle and the defeat at the St. James's Day Battle, and acting as a command post as well as blockading the River Thames during the Raid on the Medway. The vessel performed well throughout the war, though it was partially dismasted during the Four Days Battle. De Ruyter used De Zeven Provinciën as his flagship during the Third Anglo-Dutch War of 1672-1673. The ship served in all four major battles against the combined English and French fleet, fighting in the Battle of Solebay, Battle of Schooneveld and the Battle of Texel. In 1674 the ship went to the West Indies. In 1692, the ship, now armed with only 76 guns, fought at the Battles of Barfleur and La Hogue during the Nine Years' War. The vessel was severely damaged during the fight and, in 1694, De Zeven Provinciën had to be broken up.

HOW TO USE
De Zeven Provinciën requires either a modded workbench or a mission in order to spawn due to her size. Once spawned, she may be controlled via the whipstaff (a large pole) towards her stern on the upper gundeck. You may control yards, the mizzen sail, the rudder, and lights throughout the ship from here. IMPORTANT: to furl and unfurl the sails, go to the fife rails located at the base of the fore and main masts (these are on the fo'c'sle and the quarterdeck respectively). All sails on the ship have the ability to be raised and lowered individually from these fife rails. All decks are accessible via multiple stairwells and/or ladders, many of which require crouching to traverse properly.
REQUIREMENTS/RECOMMENDATIONS
To make De Zeven Provinciën actually look good in-game, I decided the best option was to use two mods I’ve made: Larger Flags and European Naval Ensigns. NEITHER OF THESE ARE REQUIRED FOR THE SHIP TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY; however I would 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 recommend you use these two mods in conjunction with her. Trust me, they make her look 100x better than she would without these flags!!! I would also recommend using a mod which adds smoke to cannons, as this is how they appeared during the age of sail and would be accurate for this ship.
In short: NOTHING HERE IS REQUIRED, HOWEVER I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THEM FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE.

This will likely be the final version of De Zeven Provinciën as I've made her basically 99% historically accurate. Currently, I have MANY different projects queued up (one of which you may have seen), and they will all be old sailing ships. Please follow me if you'd like to see more builds like this, it means a lot to me!!! :D
