[*] Make sure you have the research unlocked (for Armalite Rifle, Top Secret, or Text Plates)
[*] Make sure you have access to enough Dye or Steel
[*] Place down a letter from the Misc tab
[*] Select the letter's blueprint
[*] Easily access the other letters of the same font and size

Text Plates are a bit finicky to select materials for so I recommend placing a blueprint first, then selecting a letter and material from there.
