This mod adds five more Dryads for VG Vegetable Garden. Three are variants of the default Berrymaker; the Blueberry, Gooseberry and Cloudberry Makers, the final two are variants of the Gaumaker, the Honey, and Mushroom Makers.
Rimworld - Ideology adds a number of dryads to the game. These are essentially animals, that when tamed can provide some useful services, and supplies to their new masters. Sadly the concept has not really been expanded on by the game devs, and will newer expansions providing much shinier content, they often get overlooked.
I have been playing Rimworld a good few years now, and I really really bothered with the DLC content, because the Steam Workshop already offered a ton of modded content, so the base game provides thousands of hours of great gameplay, even without them. And then I stumbled across Sin's Dryad Retextures. The artwork in this retexture mod was of such a high quality, that I had to see it in action. I literally bought the Ideology expansion, just to see these dryads running around working for my colonisls XD
On loading, I realized that another great mod I use, Dismarzero's' VG Vegetable Garden had a couple of dryads that catered to the bamboo and ironwood. I had noticed them before when I worked on a vanilla style retexture for that mod, but since I didn't play Ideology at the time, I never gave it a second thought. With the dryad retextures however, these little guys looked kinda sad in comparison. That lead me to making a little patch to provide those two with their own reskins based on Sin's work.
And now? Let me present, WYD More VG Dryads
The vanilla dryads consist of three main types: utility, combat, and provisions. TheIronwood and Bamboo dryads Dismazero added come under the latter, and are based on the Woodmaker. The other provison based dryads are the Medicinemaker, and Berrymaker. The first of the two offers up herbal medicine, and the latter offer up the vanilla berries.
And that got me thinking. Doesn't Veggie Garden adds a bunch of berries? And so the Blueberry, Cloudberry, and Gooseberry dryads were born - naturally these are based on the Berrymaker. That left two open slots on the second tier of the tree, so I added the Mushroom, and Honey makers to finish the set. These last two are loosely based off the Gaumaker, to differentiate then from the berry makers.
Anyway, hope this mod will bring new life back into the Rimworld dryads.
Please Note: Technically this mod only requires Rimworld - Ideology, and VG Vegetable Garden to function, but given without Sin's Dryad Rextexture and my patch mod the dryads are gonna half be weirdos and have dryads, I figured it's better to just set all four as dependencies.
