Trilobite Pacemaker: High-speed deep-water medivac sub
Hey Greg, there's... Something in the drydock that looks like half submerged orange beetle, and I'm pretty sure I didn't order it. What's going on?
What new submarine? I didn't authorize a submarine.
...Bloom wanted to go SWIMMING? We have an ocean out the back door and- why would she need a submarine for swim-
Wanted to go see SEA-PONIES?! Do you have ANY idea how expensive a submarine is?! You thought aircraft were expensive, this thing's gotta be-
What do you mean we didn't buy it?
We MADE IT?!
When?! HOW?!
...Of course they did.
Is it tested? Because if that thing makes like a soda can in my... VERY ...angry fist while they're in it, we'll all be going to Supermaxlantis for the rest of forevermore!
What do you mean 'it's already certified for export'? Who facilitaded that paperwork? I'll have their head, their job, and their earthly posessions... In that order.
...
Nevermind. I'm not getting into it with that woman. Ringo does my taxes, and she's more strict on adhering to standards than I am. By like, a lot. Do we have any documentation on this thing? Give it here...
Okay, so this ugly monstrosity is called a 'Trilobite'... Okay, that tracks, ugly old fossil from the Cambrian...
Trilobite... 'Pacemaker'.
Greg, this is a medivac sub.
Okay, okay, I'm reading on...
A long-endurance, robust pocket submarine equipped with a full emergency medical suite? Capable of speeds up to FIFTY KNOTS?! GREG?! What's POWERING this thing?
...A dual twin-output Unichromium RTG?
Greg, I thought I made it explicitly clear the girls were not to be allowed anywhere NEAR military grade explosives, nuclear fuel materials, or any syrup bottles... Lest we be contaminated by explosively deployed radioactive tree sap. Also, RTGs generate like, TINY amounts of power.
Because RTGs are fueled with PLUTONIUM, Greg!
...What do you mean 'It's Not'?
Okay, I'm looking, I'm looking.
Dual Twin-Output Unichromium... 'Roto-Turbo-Glitch' generators.
...
Greg, what are these words, and what does it mean?
Okay, so Belle got involved, put some unicorn hair into the alloy mix for chromium, and made them part of a flywhee- So it's powered by the very aether of The Simulation using unicorn magic, got it. You could have just LEAD with 'Magic-powered' and I would have gotten it.
...Probably would have decided I was having a weird dream and gone back to bed too, but...
ERHEM!
So let's talk features. Let me get into presentation mode here... We have.
- Our usual C.E.S. styled simplified control system for ease of use. IE, no need for large crews. One person can operate the sub's critical systems from the helm with ease.
- Ballast control system that does most of the work for you, but can be adjusted as needed.
- Autopilot with submarine-exclusive Depth Seek AND Bottom Standoff modes. That's actually useful.
- Fully integrated life support system utilizing the Electrolyzer from the Space DLC (It can be loaded if you don't have said DLC, the Electrolyzer just doesn't function. Plenty of O2 anyway).
- Highlook Mast containing a short range radar as well as viewing system with Infrared.
- Underside dive hatch with rechargeable gear.
- Critical contingency systems including total power loss crank starter, and O2-to-Ballast cross-tie for emergencies...
- A top speed of 50-51 knots submerged... Didn't the Soviets have like, a nuclear sub with liquid metal cooling just to get that kind of power?
- Underside anchoring legs to permit use of the lower trunk hatch and diving gear while on the bottom. Might possibly be useful for extracting lighter objects.
- Onboard Emergency Medical Transport Suite with... I'm reading this right, right? 10 seats, four medical beds. Combined with the four seats on the bridge, that's a capacity of eighteen.
And Bloom fit this all into a vehicle that fits in a SMALL boat dock?!
Greg, give that Pony a raise, and yes I know we don't pay her. Give her like, fifty extra oat blocks or something and get the manual for this ready ASAP. If this is already certified for commercial use, get it out the door. NOW.
==== Microcontrollers used in this build (At least, the ones that weren't knocked out in a back alley, looted of all loose code, and kludged together in Frankencode Monsters).
