anraat der sloot gunboat (1987)

Starting life over a century ago under multiple names, the Anraat has seen it all. Beginning as a small, humble personal boat, very little remains of the original Anraa but her legacy lives on. Surviving both world wars and being preserved into the modern era, there are very few ships with a story as long or as adventurous as the Anraat. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With her role being that of a lake gunboat, she rarely received upgrades, serving with her WWII-era 8.8 cm cannons and quad 20 mm mounts up until the mid-1990s. But for her role, this was more than enough. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speaking of 8.8 cm cannons—four of them! On a ship smaller than most modern yachts, she may be small, but she packs a punch. Four quad 40 mm mounts surround the ship like a fortress, preventing any light PT boat from getting close without risking total annihilation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While she spent most of her life navigating the many lakes and canals of the Sawyer Islands, she would often venture out to engage enemy fleets—whether times were tough, or simply when she felt like causing some chaos. She handles surprisingly well in bad weather for her size, mostly due to her excellent bow shape (self-praise, deserved). While she is mighty, she is, at the end of the day, over a century old in some parts. Her engines were installed in the ’60s and are tired and worn out. After a while, they begin to overheat. When that starts happening, just give her a long rest, won’t you? She deserves one. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This specific version is the 1987 variant (alternate versions may come, but not guaranteed). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this was a very fun build, took a while but im very happy with the overal result special thanks to: https://steamcommunity.com/id/burntoutgirl for making the thumnail :3 special thanks to: https://steamcommunity.com/id/ataarsay99/ for making it functional with his engines
