(REQUIRES INFINITE ELECTRIC) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3546083828&searchtext=less+drag ^^^ This build is designed around this mod which reduces water drag. It is useable without the mod, but turning and speed may be severely decreased. This build will receive small updates over the next 30 days after release to improve function and add more details. An optimized version of the build will be released sometime soon for lower end devices & multiplayer compatibility, along with an armed commerce raider refit & her 1866 refit. She is the first of two ships in her class designed with speed and comfort in mind, with her younger sister, Kamenloke, improving upon her design. On her maiden voyage, she shattered the standing speed record of 12.4 knots with 14.5 knots, proving to be a very capable vessel from the very beginning, with her regular service seeing her go between Kapos, Renoeka and Mersaline, Cyhorte with a stopover in Plymounse. Despite her performance being relatively exceptional, she was observed to exhibit strange behaviors in perfectly calm waters, listing slowly to each side by as much as 5 degrees. Furthermore, the force of the engines strained her wooden hull at speed, though minor reinforcements of her hull were made in future refits to remedy the issue. She proved to be a popular ship among her clientele and regularly sailed over capacity, revered among even steerage passengers for the relative comfort she provided over the squalor experienced on other ships of the time. However, in 1861, rebels in South Renoeka declared secession from the Renoekan mainland, marking the beginning of a brutal war that would last until 1865. Marzenloke, moored at Kapos, was seized by the union for service in the conflict as a commerce raider. Her wooden hull made her too vulnerable to face the ironclads that were now prevailing as the warship of choice, and so most of her service was spent blockading rebel trade, sinking their ships, and seizing incoming cargo to supply the mainland. In 1864, she encountered the rebel ironclad "Galeduna" on the eastern coast of Renoeka, which promptly opened fire. The cannons tore through her wooden hull and buckled her copper plated lower hull. Marzenloke is outmatched, her cannons rendered useless against the heavily armored clad. Seeing no other option, her captain orders the ship to turn tail and speed off north towards Kapos while returning fire with her stern chasers. She is easily able to outrun the lumbering ironclad, being over twice as fast as it. While the engineering crew are able to slow the flooding, the ship is still slowly sinking. Her captain changes course to beach the ship on the soft sandy beach to the northeast of Kapos, which succeeds in preventing her from sinking. The ship would remain out of commission until restoration and refloating efforts take place after 1865 when the war concludes, and is returned to service with the Lokustene Packet Co. in 1866. After being refloated and returned to the company, she was refitted with the same wheelhouse configuration of her now lost sister, which vanished mysteriously while on her usual service in 1858. The refits saw the removal of the forward deckhouse, the forward extension of the paddle box bridge, and the wheelhouse placed atop it. Her career is uneventful from this point forward and she is scrapped in 1879.
