S.S. Wohlstadt
Welcome aboard the S.S. Wohlstadt, L&C's first ship! This fine steamer was built in 1873 for the then-new L&C Transport Co. Four ships of the class were built, with Wohlstadt being built first. Wohlstadt and her three sisters were divided between Meier and Sawyer, serving reliably for many years and helping the young L&C expand into passenger services. L&C's first passenger vessel was built in 1881, the S.S. Leithinis.
