Adds different sized Multi-analysers that differ in cost slightly to warrant their size difference.
Small (1x1) Multi-analyser - Costs slightly less material to produce but requires much more electricity to operate
Big (3x3) Multi-analyser - Costs slightly more material to produce but requires less power to operate.
It also puts these analysers (and the core-multi-analyser) into a little drop-down menu as to not clutter the building tab with different sized buildings with the same function. (it does add them separate from one another through the contextual menu from a hi-tech research bench)
Compatibility:
I honestly have no clue, I've not got much modding experience but i would assume it's not a problem unless research tables get their function overhauled by a mod? if you find an incompatibility, report it and i'll list it if i cant fix it myself.
With the new changes i'm pretty convinced as long as this mod comes AFTER any other mod that adds researchprojectdefs, that it's fine?
To Do:
look into also showing them in their drop-down form if you're looking at a hi tech research bench. less buttons = better.
evaluate the material/power cost of the different sized MA's. it feels weird that just because the 3x3 is bigger, that that is a reason for it to consume less power. the only logic i can come up with is, because it has more space, it can have MORE less-powerful components (drawing less power as a result) vs "stronger/better" components that it would need less of, saving space as a result but maybe costing more power to operate. i had the idea of cellphones in my head as modern smaller devices that with advanced components drain battery life faster == more power hungry.
i aim to make more mods that fix small gripes i have with the game (for now). the multi analyser being 2x2 always irked me because of how i like to shape my research rooms, it always feels rough to get it somewhere nice while still connecting to all the tables appropriately etc. and this mod was also keeping in mind people who build bigger and want something to "fill the space" can have the multi analyser easier as a center-piece, and the reward being it's a bit less power-costly, even if it takes more resources.
this mod is purely XML, so i don't think i need to declare license things and all that jazz?
Feel free to include this mod into your collection if you wish.
If you're gonna fork this or implement its function into a mod of your own, please credit me as the original author.
