Dammerung Association Renewed
A stand alone update to the Dammerung Association.
Adds a new armors, workbench, research, items and weapons that stun organic enemy's and do extra damage to mechs.
In gameplay, the faction is neutral and simply sells more items that the other base factions. Meaning the potential amount in stock is drastically raised. They also sell some of what the empire does without having to kiss up to them. The weapons they use deal heat damage and have a chance to stun as well.
@Lore
The Dammurang Association started as a small workshop on a no-name planet on the edge of the rim. Their leader was an eccentric who loved studying the various factions and races. How they lived, what they wore, and most of all how they waged war. He would regularly stop when caravaning to watch when a battle would break out between hostile factions, and sift through the dead's belongings for valuable weapons and other misc loot. He and his comrades would then spend days breaking them down and studying their inner workings, having a particular fascination with the advanced weapons used by ancient civilizations as well as the gear of mega-corporations.
Over time, this workshop would grow into one of the most powerful factions on its planet. But, their good fortune would be relatively short-lived as their planet was invaded by an unstoppable hostile force. They would watch as one by one, their rivals and allies fell at the hands of the void. They took their research, belongings, and personnel and left the planet seeing it as a better alternative to being exterminated.
During their time traveling from planet to planet, they worked to make use of the research they did on their homeworld to hopefully make a weapon capable of defending against the void. Through years of tinkering and survival, they developed weapons that would make all manner of armor useless. But instead of hunting down the force that drove them from their homeworld, they found they were fairly content with how they’d been living. They became one of the greatest trading organizations on the rim, offering goods wholesale as well as wares that the empire selfishly hordes.
The Dammurang Association developed a good-natured and friendly disposition, seeking to help whoever would accept it. Those who sought to take advantage of them would be cut down fairly quickly. As a result, they developed a good reputation across the rim.
@Why did I remake the mod?
While waiting for the vanilla expanded team to update the vikings addon, I decided I wanted to give this faction a chance to be something better. Truthfully I did really enjoy the crypto weapons and armor, but that's not what this mod is really about. At its heart it was meant to be a representation of me and my rimworld journey. In the back of my mind I knew it should have been (stand alone) from the start, but at the time I had little experience making apparel textures and the crypto stuff from vikings looked really cool. I did it now for multiple reasons, 1. the previously mentioned lack of a vikings update, 2. a surge of creative inspiration, 3. more practice making texures, and 4. a recent scam that I had been a victim of.
The details of the scam aren't important, what is important is how it ended. I cut contact with the scammers and as soon as they realized I had realized their deception they started making threats towards me and my family, sending pictures of gore they had taken of the internet. I alerted the police, my family, and the school who's email system they somehow got access to. Though the situation is over, I'm still scared that my life could end any day, as likely or not it may be. I figure if my life is in danger I don't want to die with any regrets, this mod being only one of them.
@Closing statements
Although its not very active, I have a discord so anyone can report bugs or just say hi.

I may make some additions in the future, and I will definitely be making more mods as long as I'm still alive.
I hope you enjoy them!
P.S.: the background of the preview image is the Mag Mel album cover. I am a big fan of the band Mili.
