FRDN Carmini (1956)

*history* Launched on the 12th of February 1945, being commissioned into the FRDN fleet later that same year, the FRDN Carmini was designed to build on the legacy and combat record of Arcturus, including new innovations, such as radar, and deck-edge aircraft lifts. The new, larger class of carrier allowed for larger, and faster naval aircraft to be introduced to the fleet, and with the ship entering the modernisation program along with her predecessor, adding both more advanced radars, and aircraft catapults allowing for jet-powered aircraft to enter the naval air service. Ships of her class would remain as the flagship of FRDN battlegroups for decades to come, remaining as the backbone of naval aviation well into the 1980s, supported by the venerable Arcturus. After Arcturus's mothballing, the Carmini class of carrier remained, receiving various refits to maintain relevance in an ever changing combat environment, with her large flag-bridge and ATC facilities allowing for various systems to be added, with the excess power of her turbo-electric drive train allowing for extensive computerisation in her later life. The class would slowly enter reserve, however remains as a combat asset of the Republic's navy along side more modern vessels. *Function* as mentioned, she's turbo electric, so simply light the boilers from the key on the bridge, and let the generators run. The throttle beside the helm controls her motors, with a top speed of around 34 knots Catapults are operated by either using ropes to attach the aircraft to the sled, or via a direct elec connector to the nose gear, and simply pressing the button on the deck and letting the cycle run automatically. Press the button again to reset the catapults. all guns are functional, with magasines nearby each position *additional notes* she's still a bit of a work in progress, but is fully operational. the flag bridge is as yet incomplete very basic interior to save frames, so don't expect alot of detail aircraft magazine, located at the front of the hangar deck, is incomplete, with ammunition for guns, but no way to re-arm bombers/CAS as of yet *credits* gangway: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2584963285 catapult: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3143183230&searchtext=catapult radars: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2868633133&searchtext=radar https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1942471545&searchtext=radar https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1819580956&searchtext=radar [to be amended]
