S.S. Ontario

S.S. ONTARIO Southern Circumnavigation Steam Packet Company History March, 1845, the Ontario, along with her sister ship the Yukon, were introduced as the first steamships of the new Southern Circumnavigation Steamship Company. Though not the largest or fastest vessels sailing the seas at the time, the ships were build with the express purpose of connecting the Meier territory to the Arctic via a south bound route, as opposed to the more popular northern route. During the winter months however, Ontario and her sister were rerouted to shipping cargo and passengers from Meier to Donkk. In August later that year, while en-route to the arctic, the Ontario was steaming to the arctic when she encountered two major storms mid-ocean. The severity of the storms had damaged the skylights of the Saloon Class compartment, and resulted in both some minor flooding and a delay to Ontario's arrival at Northumbria Island by over a day. (This ship's history is being developed in real time.
