Ugruk - High latitude explorer
Description
This is a very personal project. In this case, I’m not trying to create a boat that simply works well in Stormworks; I’m trying to build what the boat I dream of owning in real life would look like. As you know, game physics and real life are very different things.
I would love to sail northern seas—like the Barents Sea or Baffin Bay—aboard a small boat with my partner. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of doing this on a small, rugged, tugboat-like vessel. These designs are my main inspirations:

Using a naval architecture AI, I tried to understand whether what I have in mind is actually feasible, and whether boats like these could serve as a base for developing a more rugged version suitable for high latitudes.
After a long discussion, I decided to create what this hypothetical “improved” model might eventually look like. It’s challenging, because building small objects at true scale is very difficult in this game, but overall I’m quite happy with the result. It’s close to how I imagine the real boat would look.
To be honest, this is just a dream. My real-world experience so far is limited to renting a small boat in the Mediterranean during summer, so I seriously doubt I’ll ever have the money or the opportunity to make this a reality—but dreaming is still free (for now).
Some details are especially hard to recreate. For example, I used the Phalanx radar as a kind of fiberglass cover for the TX/RX antennas, and the available railings are very limited in shape. You have to rely a bit on imagination—but still, as I said, I’m happy with the result.
