Archons have the VFEAncient's "Isolationist" meme, and the "Loyalist" meme, making them much harder to recruit after imprisoning. you have to convert them first, and converting them is harder due to aphostasy precepts. How much harder is kind of random - on world gen, the faction can have anything from just "disaproved" to "Abhorrent". you can always devmode edit the faction to abhorrent if you really want the game to be hard for yourself.
